Can kids sleep in an adult sleeping bag?

This really depends on the age of the kid. In most cases, if the child is seven years or older, they can probably sleep perfectly well in an adult sleeping bag. However, keep in mind that all the extra air inside the bag that the child is not occupying compromises the heat retention inside the bag so whenever possible, it's best to get a sleeping bag that fits the child.

Can babies sleep in sleeping bags while camping?

Adult-sized sleeping bags are simply too big for babies and as babies tend to move around quite a bit while they sleep, the little one can get lost inside the bag which can also restrict their breathing. It's best to invest in a baby sleeping bag and perhaps bring a portable cot as well. In most cases, a baby sleeping bag simply won't be warm enough for them so always bring extra blankets and make sure you're camping in warm weather.

Sleeping outdoors is great, but depending on the time of year and your location, it can get pretty chilly. Look for a temperature rating of 30 degrees or colder as this should be warm enough for most seasons. Keep in mind that the mountains can get very cold quite quickly even in the middle of summer so always bring extra layers of clothing and extra camping blankets.
