Tips To Grow Your Beard

There is this popular notion that the more facial hair you have the manlier and more virile you are. It is perhaps for this reason that many men strive to grow their facial hair, whether it is a beard or a mustache. Unfortunately, not everyone is gifted with the genes to grow beard as fast as other men do. However, like everything else, there are things that you can do to help you grow the most fascinating facial hair in town. Here are some of the top tips to help grow your beard faster.

Watch What You Eat

Every single cell in our body requires the right amounts of the right nutrients especially proteins, vitamins, and minerals to grow and develop. Protein is important in facial hair because it provides the building blocks for keratin, the substance that makes up the outermost layer of the skin and hair shaft. Underneath the skin at the level of the hair root is a collagen matrix that provides a framework for the hair and other cells to grow. It provides the platform for blood vessels to reach the hair root and deliver its nutrients and oxygen. Examples of food items that you may want to include in your diet if you want to grow your beard a lot faster include poultry, meat, beans, eggs, fish, milk, cheese, nuts and seeds, and even certain fruits and greens.

Keep The Stress Out of Your Life

It is a well-established fact that stress is a major factor in almost any other human phenomenon. There are actually two schools of thought when it comes to the relationship between stress and beard growth along with looking after your beard. On one hand, stress is believed to be beneficial in stimulating the growth of facial hair. On the other hand, stress is known to stimulate the release of cortisol which has an adverse effect on testosterone. As we already know, facial hair is governed by the androgens testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. If that is the case, then experiencing stress can lead to increased cortisol which decreases testosterone. Hence, there’s a very strong likelihood that your facial hair growth will also be stunted. It is thus, important to manage the stresses in your life by exercising and observing a variety of helpful coping strategies.

Remove Dead Skin Cells

Exfoliating your skin at least once a week can help stimulate the hair cells underneath the skin to keep on growing and developing. This is because the removal of dead skin cells can facilitate the continuing and faster growth of facial hair. You don’t even need to go to an expensive spa to get the proper exfoliation. You only need to use the correct body wash or soap to remove those nasty dead skin cells.

Sleep Well

If you can recall your mom telling you to go to bed early so you’ll grow a lot faster, there’s actually a reason behind this. When you go to sleep early, your body is able to utilize the extra amount of time it is resting to make appropriate repairs and rejuvenate or recharge the rest of the body. But there’s an even more scientific explanation for it. The pituitary gland is most active at night, especially during sleep. This gland is responsible for the synthesis and secretion of the human growth hormone which serves like the controller of all proteins and other macromolecules to start building and growing tissues, your beard and mustache included. In very simple terms, having a good night’s sleep enhances your body’s ability to grow and develop tissues at a much faster rate while also allowing it to repair itself.

Consider Supplements

For really fast beard growth, you may want to consider using supplements especially those that contain natural testosterone or even dihydrotestosterone. Testosterone is a hormone that is necessary for stimulating the hair follicles to grow while also facilitating the increase in the thickness of the individual beard hair. On the other hand, DHT is the hormone that increases the length of the hair while also increasing the number of individual facial hair. In other words, testosterone primes the hair follicles while DHT promotes hair density. Choosing a supplement that contains these two hormones in addition to amino acids and micronutrients can thus, help you grow your beard a lot faster.

Growing your beard fast requires a combination of eating the right foods, managing your stresses, removing dead skin cells, allowing your body to recuperate and grow its different tissues, and providing a variety of nutrients especially testosterone and DHT. In other words, leading a healthier, stress-free lifestyle can help you grow your facial hair fast.
