Advantages of an Office Chair with Rollerblade Wheels

When was the last time you took a look at your office chair?  Most people don’t give them a passing thought, much like the rest of their office furniture. While ergonomic office chairs are more comfortable for prolonged use than ordinary chairs, the wheels can often be tricky to use. Most office chairs come with standard plastic wheels, which allow you to move around your workstation, but usually require forceful navigation. Desk chair mats can help, but only to a certain extent.

What are you to do if you don’t want to replace your office chair, but it just won’t roll as it should? Easy, add a set of rollerblade wheels. The rollerblade inline skate wheels of your childhood might just be the upgrade you need to increase productivity, relieve body tension, and increase the longevity of your favorite office chair.

1. How Are Rollerblade Wheels Different?

Ordinary caster wheels are usually made of plastic and can be quite bulky. You can still move around your workspace in your chair, but the movements are often sticky and difficult. Rollerblade wheels offer smoother mobility around your workspace, which makes you more productive. Maneuverability is especially important for those who work from home as these workers tend to create a customized environment around their home office desks; their desk, filing cabinet, printer, and other pieces of equipment are within easy reach. Rollerblade wheels for office chairs make it easier to move around the workstation, which means you can get your work done faster.

2. Rollerblade Wheels Are Safer for All Floor Types

Look around any office, including home offices, and you will most likely see a group of people sitting at their desks. Nearly all of them will have desk chair mats under their chairs. Desk chair mats are used on carpeted and delicate floors to protect them from scuffs and scratches caused by the caster wheels on your average office chair. When you replace caster wheels with rollerblade wheels, you are protecting your floors with non-scratching wheels. Desk chair mats can be restrictive as they only cover a small area, and that’s a problem you don’t need. Rollerblades wheels can move anywhere on any surface.

3. Ordinary Caster Wheels Can Become Clogged

There is often a lot of dirt and debris floating around the average office, and home offices can be worse with pets. Caster wheels tend to collect hair, lint, and other bits of dirt and debris, which causes them to become clogged over time. When this happens, it is more challenging than ever to try and maneuver your way around your work station. Cleaning them requires turning your chair upside down or pulling off the caster wheels. Rubber rollerblade wheels are less likely to clog up, period. Even if they do attract a bit of lint or hair, they are much easier to clean than casters as they don’t have the nooks that collect dirt.

4. Rollerblade Wheels Are More Durable

Sit in any chair for eight or more hours a day, and something is going to give. When it comes to office chairs, the first thing to go is usually the caster wheels. In most cases, people will look at replacing the entire chair. If the rest of the chair is still in good condition, rollerblade wheels can extend the life of the chair. These wheels are more durable and will generally last longer than caster wheels. For the independent worker trying to keep costs down, this is a win-win situation.

Besides, rollerblade wheels comprise premium rubber materials, so they are less likely to wear out and can take more abuse than ordinary wheels. Rollerblade wheels for office chairs are heavy duty and made to last. They are also easy to replace so that you can extend the life of your office chair indefinitely.

5. Your Back and Legs Will Thank You

Wheeling around in your office chair may not seem like a difficult task, but think of the exertion you put on your back and legs to maneuver your chair around your workstation. The strain of pushing your chair around will eventually take its toll. Since rollerblade wheels allow for smoother movements, it requires minimal effort to move, which puts less stress on your limbs. Your back will thank you later.

When we spend the majority of our days in a chair at work, it’s essential to be as comfortable as possible. The best office chair is only as good as the wheels that move and support it. If you are tired of old, stiff, immovable caster wheels, replace them with rollerblade wheels for both comfort and style. The upgrade is worth it!
