Best Shark Tank Ideas

Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur or not, we can all agree that Shark Tank is some truly brilliant television, that showcases some extraordinary ideas. If you’re not familiar with the program, the concept is that individuals will pitch their idea to the ‘sharks’ (hence the name) and then the sharks decide whether or not they’re going to invest in the product. It’s a great way to see some new and innovative ideas come to life. You might even be using a product now that featured on the show!

Below, we’ve outlined 15 of the best Shark Tank ideas, ones that have become hugely successful, just like the television program.

1. Squatty Potty

Let’s start off as we mean to go on… the Squatty Potty is a unique idea, but so simple. It basically helps you poop better. We know, ingenious. The plastic step like product simply sits under your toilet, so you can pull it out when you need it, ensuring you have the best poop of your life. With over $30 million in sales, it’s no wonder it’s hit the top of our list.

2. Bombas

There’s nothing unique about sports socks, except with these, every time you buy a pair, the company donates a pair to a homeless shelter. It’s enough to make you feel all warm and fuzzy – especially your feet. They’re breathable and comfortable, so you can try your hand (or feet) at any activity and feel safe in the knowledge that these socks will last the distance. They’ve also made a tidy penny for the company owners too – $50 million to be exact.

3. Scrub Daddy

Uniquely named and uniquely designed, the Scrub Daddy is one of the most successful products to come out of the show. It adapts to the climate it’s in, so when in warm water, it will be soft and not damage your items, but in cold water, it can help you scrub harder, removing those tough stains. It keeps itself clean and smells great too.

4. Drop Stop

We all know the frustration of dropping things down the side of our car chairs and doors, so why hasn’t anyone created something sooner to stop that from happening? Well luckily Shark Tank allows people with these ingenious ideas to keep coming forward. The Drop Stop is a foam filled log, which stops anything dropping down the sides whether that’s your phone or just crumbs.

5. Bubba’s Q Boneless Ribs

This is really an invention for the 21st Century, but have you noticed how difficult it is to buy boneless ribs and wings? That’s because they don’t exist, until NFL player Al ‘Bubba’ Baked pitched them – and succeeded. We know, we’re just as flabbergasted as you are. Still, someone must have a need for them as they achieved $16 million in sales during 2017. That’s a lot of boneless ribs.

6. Tipsy Elves

Tacky Christmas jumpers are all the rage, and Tipsy Elves took full advantage of that. Investors from Shark Tank loved the idea and went all in, giving the company scope to expand. Now, they sell a lot more than just novelty Christmas sweatshirts – and they’re making a lot of Christmas cheer out of it too (by that, we mean they’re absolutely loaded).

7. Simple Sugars

Skincare can be hard to come by when you have extremely sensitive skin, which is where Simple Sugars comes in. This idea was created by an 18-year-old, which makes us ask what we’re doing with our lives, but we digress. This all-natural skin care range has made her a lot of money, as well as keeping the Shark Tank investors happy too.

8. ReadeRest

If you wear glasses, specifically reading glasses, you’ll know how annoying it can be to either lose them constantly, or have them stuck on the top of your head, or dangly from around your neck. That’s where the ReadeRest comes in, a handy little device which attaches to your shirt or top (magnetically, might we add), and keeps your glasses clipped in effectively. With over $27 million in sales already in the bank, there was a definite need for this invention.

9. Ring

Yes, Ring was hoped to be invested in on Shark Tank! However, none of the investors saw the potential in the product, but luckily for CEO James Siminoff, Amazon bought it for $1.1 billion. You read that correctly, BILLION. This smart home device allows you to view who’s at your door, without you even being at home. This adds that extra layer of security, that so many of us crave.

10. Cousins Maine Lobster

From food truck to ordering online, the Cousins Maine Lobster company is a fantastic growth story that came out of an investment on Shark Tank. Although they didn’t receive the largest investment at $55,000, they managed to turn that into $20 million in sales. Tasty stuff.

11. Grace And Lace

If you’ve ever struggled with the length on your skirts or dresses, then Grace and Lace will stand out to you. The company created extenders for clothing, as well as boots, so it looks like you’re wearing socks. You might not think this would be a popular product, but with over $20 million in sales, you’d definitely be wrong. The Shark Tank investment allowed the company to expand and grow to what it’s become today.

12. Lumio

With a huge investment of $350,000, Lumio is one of the larger investments to come out of Shark Tank. They pitched only one product at the time – a foldable, magnetic lamp – but now Lumioas a whole has grown to be the successful company it is today. It also looks like a book when closed, which makes it a winning product in our eyes.

13. GrooveBook

Personalized gifts are a big market and the viewers of Shark Tank must have agreed because the sales increased dramatically after the app was featured on the show. GrooveBook allows you to upload your own photos and create a monthly photo book, which also comes with perforated pages, so you can tear and share your memories too. After becoming hugely successful, the company was sold off in 2015 for a tidy $14.5 million. You could say they turned over a new leaf…

14. Wicked Good Cupcakes

This is one of our favorites to feature on this list. These are basically cupcakes in a jar, which means you get more cake than from a normal cupcake. A winner in our eyes. Customers seem to love the idea and the Shark Tank investor has stated since his investment, the company now makes a delicious $4.8 million a year – and is one of his most successful choices of investment.

15. Buggy Beds

Last and by no means least, Buggy Beds. Yep, it does exactly what you think it might do and detects bed bugs. The Sharks knew that this would hit home with customers and all decided to invest. The company then grew over a number of countries (23 to be exact) and gained sales of more than $1.2 million. We all want to prevent bed bugs appearing and luckily now there’s a product that can do that!
