It is not very easy to pick the right earbuds. One has to consider the level of comfort that these devices provide. Their intuitive controls and overall functionality also matter. Sound quality is also crucial. It’s a good thing Microsoft had these things in mind when it designed the Surface Earbuds.
The Surface Earbuds have a very peculiar design. Most earphones on the market strive to be as inconspicuous as possible. That’s not the case with this Microsoft creation. While the ear tips themselves fit well into the ear canal, it is the outer disc of the Surface Earbuds that is quite unsettling. It has a circular design that is large enough to cover about a third to a half of your ears.
The beauty of such a design is that it allows for easier manipulation of the controls. The disc-shaped Surface comes with a built-in voice and touch control technologies. These technologies allow the user to access Office 365 without the need for a display. Cortana is already included in the package, allowing you to take full advantage of its hands-free features.
While the Earbuds bear the Microsoft badge, it also works on iOS and Android platforms. The sound quality is good enough for listening to music, taking calls, watching movies, and playing games. It features the aptX and SBC audio codecs for excellent sound reproduction. Microsoft also custom-designed acoustic drivers to help improve the overall quality of sound.
Microsoft is also including three pairs of silicone ear tips. You can always change into a pair that feels right in your ear. There are four anchor points, too. They help secure the Earbuds to the ears.
The Microsoft Surface Earbuds offer a different take on immersive listening experiences. One look at this gadget and you’ll know it is going to be a different experience.
