Male Sexual Performance

Every day, all over the world, people enjoy intimate moments of pleasure and the personal connection that come with having sex. A healthy sex life is not just about pleasure. It’s also a great boost to your general health both physically and mentally. There is no better way to achieve that level of intimacy with a partner you genuinely have feelings for, and when you have a trusting relationship with that special someone it can be pretty amazing. Sex is all about giving and receiving, but it does require a little bit of effort.

Relationships take work. Pleasing your partner will ultimately make it an enjoyable experience for both of you. But that doesn’t mean just going through the motions. There are many ways to improve your sexual performance and make it sex a fantastic intimate connection that goes far beyond the physical act. Let’s have closer look at 10 ways to improve your sexual performance that will help you connect with your partner and add a little more excitement in your sex life.

1. Spice Things Up A Little

We all know the old saying, “variety is the spice of life”. This is true for your sex life too. Doing the same thing, in the same place every time is more like a chore than something pleasurable so spice things up a little. This is particularly important for those in a long-term relationship. Repeating the same routine can become boring and somewhat uninspiring. Try different positions for a new angle. It may be clumsy at first, but the very act of trying may be exactly what you need to spice up your love life.

Try new locations as well. Sure, bedrooms are fine, but why not take it up a level. Go for a walk in the woods and enjoy nature in a completely different way. Different areas of the house can be a lot of fun too.

Don’t be afraid to use props when you play. A little bit of silk against bare skin can feel pretty amazing and inspire you to reach for new levels of intimacy. Encourage your partner to open up with some fantasies too. Chances are you both have the same thing in mind but you may have been too shy to open up.

2. Don’t Skip Foreplay

Foreplay can be a lot of fun and can ignite the fires of passion that have burned down to mere embers. There are dozens of things you can do to get things going again. Sometimes, the simple act of softly touching your partner is enough. You can start with an intimate dinner, with suggestive touching under the table, followed by taking turns massaging each other and see where that leads you. Interestingly, foreplay doesn’t necessarily have to be a sexual act, but if you play your cards right, you can have a great experience with your partner.

Keep foreplay going for as long as possible. The anticipation alone will get you both excited and ready to please each other like you did when you first started your relationship and if you get stuck for inspiration, stop and see what things you can do together. If you really look closely you may very well find that any activity you do together can be considered foreplay.

3. Leave The Stress Behind

The modern lifestyle is full of stress. We are working longer and harder than ever before. Unfortunately, stress and anxiety can have a very negative effect on erectile function and sexual performance. At the end of a long, hard day, sex may be the last thing on your mind. You may still be worried about the project you’re working on or a multitude of other things. When you clock off at work, make sure you mentally clock off as well. Push those worries to the back of your mind and get intimate with your partner. Remember one important fact. Good sex is one of the best ways to relieve stress and the positive feeling you’ll get from great sex will have you waking up the next morning feeling refreshed and positive. So turn off your phone and focus on something a lot better.

4. Control Those Bad Habits

Smoking is bad in so many ways but if you needed that one more reason to stop then improving your sexual performance is a great incentive to kick this bad habit. Over time, smoking can damage the smooth muscle inside the penis. This muscle is responsible for maintaining an erection. Smoking has also been known to lower libido, not to mention the fact that smokers breathe heavily at the best of times.

You may think a few drinks will help you perform better in the sack but the exact opposite is true. Alcohol has the tendency to dull your senses so you are less likely to become and stay erect. What’s worse, your response to stimulation will also be inhibited so all that foreplay will go to waste. You are more likely to lose any sensation in your loins which can be embarrassing for you and disappointing for your partner. You don’t need to abstain from alcohol altogether. A glass or two of wine is fine and if you share that with your partner you’ll have another way to increase intimacy and performance.

Drugs are also a habit you want to kick is you want to improve your sexual performance. They also mess with your mind so you are less likely to get things started properly and while some drugs may claim to have aphrodisiac properties, the long-term effect just isn’t worth the risk.

5. Exercise

Being in good physical shape is great for your health. You’ll not only feel fantastic, but you’ll also look it too. This will be an enormous boost to your self-confidence. The benefits of exercise for your sexual health are also important. Regular exercise will increase your testosterone levels, which will also do wonders for your sex life. Not only that, all that extra stamina will help you to become a dynamo between the sheets.

Exercise has other benefits too. When you play sport or hit the gym you forget about the things that have been stressing you out. You’ll feel a lot better and less stressed which will do wonders for your sex life.

6. Practice Makes Perfect

One of the best things about having a regular partner that you can be intimate with is that you don’t have to put in a perfect performance every time. But that shouldn’t stop you from trying. You may want to introduce a new position or technique into your repertoire but you’re worried about not doing it right. Don’t let that stop you. You and your partner should not only try new ways to increase your sexual performance and pleasure, but you should also keep at it until these new styles feel perfect.  Regular practice of a new position or technique can be a lot of fun and it’s a great excuse to have more frequent sex. Sooner or later, all that practice will pay off and you’ll have found a way to keep things interesting. Once you and your partner feel you’ve got it all right, find something new again and you can start the whole process over and keep things interesting.

7. Have Some Coffee

If you’re a coffee lover then you’ll be thrilled to know that your daily dose of caffeine can help improve your sex life. That isn’t a green light to down copious amounts of coffee because the last thing you want is to be jittery. However, a cup or two of your favorite brew has the ability to act as a low dose of Viagra. It dilates your arteries and improves the flow of flood, particular to your penis. If you’ve got a hot date that invites you up for coffee at the end of the night, go for it. If you’re really lucky, or really good, you may end up staying for a breakfast coffee too.

8. Talk To Your Partner

If you’re worried about your sexual performance, the best person to talk to is your partner. Together you can work on any problems or concerns you may have and by keeping the lines of communication open, you can try different things together to get your sex life back on track again or you may even discover that the problems you thought you had aren’t really problems.

You don’t necessarily need to limit your conversations to your sexual problems. Sharing all aspects of your life with that one special person can be pretty amazing. If you’re stressed, your partner can help you unwind and sharing your dreams and fantasies will help you to see each other in a completely different light. Curl up on the couch with your partner and talk about anything. That coziness and intimacy is a great starting point for more amorous pursuits.

There may also be times and topics that you just don’t seem to be able to open up about. If you’re not sure of how to bring up certain issues, or you’re concerned that bringing up these matters may affect your relationship, don’t feel like a failure by seeking help from a professional couple’s counselor. These people have most likely heard it all so nothing you or your partner have to say will be open to ridicule. Counselors are also trained to give sound advice that will be of benefit to both of you.

9. Track Your Diet

Apart from your penis, the other organ that gets a good workout during sex is your heart. If you have a tendency to eat a lot of processed carbs and heavy food, you’re putting your heart at risk and lowering its capacity to function properly during physical activity and that includes sex.

Limit the amount of fast and processed foods to keep your heart strong and healthy. A diet that consists of lots of fruit and vegetables is always a great option for your overall health, particularly your heart, but when you pay more attention to the nutrients you are consuming then you’ll soon realize that you can utilize these to improve your sexual performance. All those healthy vitamins and minerals will give you lots of energy, in and out of the bedroom so increase your intake of these great foods.

Omega-3 is also a great way to improve your vascular health and, in turn, give your sexual performance a serious boost. You can take a supplement or simply eat foods that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Make fatty fish like salmon a regular part of your diet, as well as nuts, avocados and olive oil.

10. Seek Medical Advice

Sometimes the problem with your sexual performance may be due to a medical issue. It could be anything from a hormonal imbalance, to increased stress levels or something as simple as a vitamin or mineral deficiency. If you’ve tried everything you know and you still feel that you’re not performing as well as you should sexually, don’t delay. Go and see your doctor sooner, rather than later. It could end up being nothing, but the fear of the unknown will add up to more stress which will only make matters worse. Furthermore, you could have a more serious medical condition that is affecting more than just your sexual performance.

Before you let your performance anxiety issues get the better of you, remember that they can and do happen to everyone. You’re not a robot or an actor that can put on a repeat performance night after night. One less than smashing performance does not mean you have a problem. Follow these suggestions on improving your sexual performance and you’ll be able to put on your best show most of the time.

On a final note, be spontaneous and relax. When it comes to sex, too much planning and worrying is not going to help. Go with the flow and let nature take its course.
