Sam Anderson has followed a passion for well-told stories and nature's beauty from university classrooms to mountain adventures. After earning a bachelor's degree in literature, he leaned into a life fueled by road tripping, rock climbing, coffee and beer, and renegade camping. He has worked as a chainsaw operator, house carpenter, and window cleaner, at one point running his own window cleaning business. He has finally settled with his girlfriend and small zoo in the western American desert, trading his tool belt for a keyboard.

Want to train like a monster? Get Reebok’s new Frankenstein-inspired Nano X1 Halloween Pack. The reimagined look takes the popular Reebok platform to ghoulish new realms, with a sickly green hue and crude faux stitching. According to the brand, the patched-up look reflects and celebrates the body repair necessary after brutal workouts.

The classic horror films of Universal Pictures inspired the men’s “Frankie” and women’s “Frannie.” The sockliner of each Halloween Pack X1 features the characters in silhouette. In a statement, Reebok mentioned Universal’s other famous scary characters like Dracula and Wolfman, but it’s unclear whether the collection will involve any other monsters except for Frankenstein.

Frankenstein’s monster is a pitiful outcast, lovelorn and friendless, but victimized by tragic misunderstanding —in other words, monsterized. With the collection, Reebok displays its sensitivity to his plight by seeking to normalize monsterhood — in whatever form it takes.

“We wanted to create something special for all those training this Halloween season,” said Kristen Fortin, director of global marketing at Reebok. “We took the opportunity to reimagine the Nano X1 in a spooky yet strong setting, celebrating the transformations that happen in the gym during a moment in time when being your own type of monster is championed.”

Reebok has given Nano wearers plenty of opportunities to express themselves. The hundreds of colors and patterns across more than 100 designs range from understated and bizarre to nostalgic. The line’s versatility characterizes it — running, cross-training, and casual wear are all well within bounds.

This year, the brand goes big for Halloween, releasing not only the Nano X1 Halloween Pack but also a collection of basketball sneakers and runners inspired by “Ghostbusters.” MSRP for the Nano X1 Halloween Pack is $130. It drops on October 20, leaving you plenty of time to get your monster on before Mischief Night.
