Vodka Cocktail Recipes
While some stick to the stigma that cocktails are fruity drinks only to be enjoyed by the fairer sex, we think vodka is a hard-hitting spirit that deserves to be enjoyed by the more masculine type too! Whether you are hosting a cocktail party or simply want to find a recipe that tantalizes your taste buds and helps you to wind down at the end of a long day – we’ve done our research and gathered a list of the 10 more popular vodka mixes that are super easy to make and will surely serve their purpose.
Before we start the party, we suggest you equip yourselves with a shaker, stirrer and some top quality bottles of Vodka – yes, we said bottle”S” – you might find yourself wanting to try out each and every one of these delicious recipes!
1. The Screwdriver
With such a manly name, we couldn’t resist adding this one to the top of the list! It’s not just the name that makes this drink appealing, however. If you enjoy a burst of citrus with a touch of bitters, then we have an inkling that this very basic cocktail will knock your socks off with flavour. This drink is perfect for those who like to indulge in brunch-time beverages that come with a kick and it is also ideal to cool down with after a hard session at the gym when some iced refreshments are in order.

Add your citrus juices and then gently combine the liquids using a cocktail stirrer. Add a few dashes of Angostura bitters (or bitters of your choice) and compliment the drink with a wedge of orange placed onto the rim of your glass.
2. The Caipirovska
While we agree that “caipir-ovska” is quite the mouthful to pronounce, the drink itself is quite simple and straightforward. Don’t let the very basic ingredients fool you, however, as the end result is a superbly refreshing drink that comes with a delightful lemony twist. We recommend this drink for sweltering summer days when you are too hot and bothered to exert yourself over a drink that requires more effort.

3. Bloody Mary
While a Bloody Mary is not everyone’s go-to drink and the taste only appeals to a select few, we still think it should make the list for its easy recipe and unique flavour. Commonly served as a morning drink, many regard this cocktail as being the ideal cure for hangovers and the somewhat savoury ingredients have a perfect way of complimenting a plateful of greasy breakfast foods too!

4. Moscow Mule
This mule definitely comes with a kick! A spicy cocktail that bites back, the Moscow Mule perfectly pairs the clear spirit with the tang of ginger for a sharp, clean taste. Add a hint of lime if you don’t mind a touch of citrus. This drink requires very little prep work and also does not require the addition of other costly spirits and blends.

8. Lemon Drop Martini
Vodka is the ideal spirit for stirring up sweet martinis and the Lemon Drop makes the list for being a drink that perfectly blends sweet and sour for a tantalising tasting experience. Shake ingredients together well and then carefully pour the contents into your glass (try not to let it touch your sugared rim). Garnish with a twisted lemon rind. Add a handful of ice cubes. Shake the ingredients together well and then strain the mix into a highball glass. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherries.
10. Harvey Wallbanger
Another drink with a weird name. We loved the way the name rolled off our tongue so much that we simply had to give the drink itself a taste – and it was amaZING! A tad similar to the Screwdriver, this cocktail is unique in that it uses a vanilla-spiced liqueur called Galliano L’Autentico to give it an original flavour and subtle texture. The vanilla liqueur is used as a float on top of the vodka and orange juice mix. Perfect for late morning breakfasts or as a sundowner, the Harvey Wallbanger is a citrus delight that smells as divine as it tastes!
Ingredients: Vodka, orange juice, Galliano L’Autentico, ice cubes, orange slice and maraschino cherries.
Directions: Just like the rest of our cocktails on the list, the Harvey Wallbanger can be whipped up in less than 10 minutes. Here’s how you do it: pour 45mls of vodka into a tall glass along with 120ml orange juice – add a few ice cubes. Layer the Galliano on top by pouring it ever so slowly over the back of a tablespoon. Garnish with a slice of orange and one or two cherries. Mmhmm!
