Raspberry Pi Zero
Raspberry Pi’s computers were already amongst the cheapest, but the new Raspberry Pi Zero takes the project to a whole new level with a price tag of just five dollars. This minuscule computer is smaller than its predecessors, is made in Wales, and features a Broadcom BCM2835 1GHz ARM11 core processor, 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM, a micro-SD card slot, micro USB sockets for data and power, and a mini-HDMI socket for outputting 1080p60. There’s however no WiFi or Bluetooth which for this price point is not all that surprising, but for DIY projects this budget-friendly computer is plenty capable. One also comes free with this month’s issue of MagPi magazine — so try to grab one at your local bookstore.
