Nike Air Vapormax 2021 Black & Metallic Gold
When the very first VaporMax sneaker was introduced to the world during the 2017 Air Max Day, it created a lot of highly-optimistic buzz that is centered on the low-top running sneaker’s remarkable outsole unit. Some 2 years later, Nike is reintroducing its VaporMax unit with some changes that sneaker-lovers will surely appreciate even more.
The 2019 edition of the VaporMax retains the unique segmented Air Max design of its outsoles so that the feet will be able to move a lot more naturally. It also retained the full-length Air Max outsole unit, providing a cradle for the entire length of the foot to sit and rest on. It is this combination of Air Max features that provides ever-reliable cushioning that is perfect for running or simply walking.
The redesigned VaporMax now features an upper that is made of Nexkin, a revolutionary translucent material that has been stretch-woven to give the VaporMax upper greater durability, enhanced weather-readiness, and better structure than the Flyknit material that was used in the 2017 VaporMax.
There’s also a redesigned internal cage that hugs the midfoot and the arch of the foot so that it locks it down while giving ample support. The TPU heel clip is also made higher and bigger for better support on a daily basis. Lastly, this Nike sneaker was given a TPU coating, giving it a color-shifting aesthetic. Look at it from an angle and it’s opaque. Look from another angle and it’s transparent.
Nike says it took them more than 7 years to perfect the VaporMax Air technology that included testing over hundreds of miles both in warm and cold weather. Walkers and runners were used to making sure that the sneaker felt great while establishing the kind of fit that would make the sneaker seem and feel like it’s part of the feet.
