Its name means to reign in Swedish, and there’s little reason to think the Koenigsegg Regera will do otherwise. Equipped with a 5.0L twin-turbo V8 cranking out 1,100 horses and three electric motors bumping its total output to 1,500 horsepower, the Regera is easily the most powerful production car ever, and stands to become the fastest accelerating one as well. Its lack of a traditional transmission helps make the car more efficient; in its place stands the Koegnigsegg Direct Drive, which unsurprisingly directly connects the engine to the wheels without the need for gears in the conventional sense. While the Regera’s 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.7 seconds — due to it being rear wheel drive only — leaves a little to be desired, it’ll surge from 150 to 250 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and go from a dead stop to 400 km/h in less than 20. It also sports a retractable carbon wing and a luxurious interior that includes 6-way adjustable memory foam sports seats, leather finishing, and a 9″ infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.
