It’s going to continue being a Google-heavy couple of days. Next on the list is Google WiFi, the search giant’s new wireless internet system that replaces your single router with several WiFi points instead to extend coverage throughout even the most sprawling of homes. While just a single unit will cover a normal-sized home or apartment, two or three can be seamlessly used in conjunction, automatically transferring devices over to the closest WiFi point to boost speeds and avoid congestion. The sleek white machines are controlled using an equally elegant Google WiFi app, letting you prioritize devices for performance, share passwords, control access for certain devices (for instance, setting a curfew for children), and even offering suggestions that include placement of individual routers to optimize performance.
