Firewalla Cyber Security – Firewall for Biz Big and Small

Your business has gone to strictly WFH (that’s workin’ from home, but you knew that). Or maybe you just started off on your own, and your business is growing beyond the confines of your den. Whether you’re looking to keep your employees on an upgraded, secure VPN (virtual private network) or you’re aware of how vulnerable your family’s unprotected data is to attacks across the globe, Firewalla has the cybersecurity firewall for your precise needs.

For those new to the cybersecurity world, a VPN router (or VPN server; same-same) encrypts your connection over the internet from your devices to a network. This encrypted connection allows for the safe transmission of sensitive data without allowing unauthorized access to your private info. That means you can work remotely from anywhere with as much security as you would at home.

Firewalla cyber firewalls give you adblocking security, secure access to your cloud storage and the smart networks around your house, and it’s all yours — no sharing, no threat of security breaches. It also provides data encryption to keep people from “eavesdropping” on your information while you fire off emails at the coffee shop.

Firewalla’s international security provisions allow you to bypass internet censorship while you’re traveling internationally and access your banking information without hindrance. While you can’t hide from your service provider with this VPN, you’ll be as safe and secure when surfing the web abroad as you are when snuggled up on the couch. What do we secretly, really love, though? The ability to stream your full video subscription anywhere in the world. Firewalla’s technology routes the latest and greatest Netflix series without restricting your streams to your geographic location.

Firewalla Options

The Firewalla Red and Blue options are ideal for families and small businesses; both cater to fewer users and are more affordable. The Blue Plus and Gold options are better for high-speed professionals and larger businesses, as both offer even faster internet speeds and more robust security architectures.

All four Firewalla cybersecurity options require a mobile phone to set up and run, but none of them require a subscription. If you need to impose regional restrictions, look to the Firewalla Blue, Blue Plus, or Gold, as all three models feature geo-IP filtering.

Firewalla Red — $109

The Red option works best as a “plug-and-play firewall” for the budget-conscious safety geeks. If you have a small network (think family or small business) with internet speeds less than 100 Mbps, this is a great option for you. It holds up to 512 MB of memory and has a VPN encryption speed of 28 Mbps.

Firewalla Blue — $179

The Blue option is great for internet speeds between 100 and 500 Mbps. This upgraded option includes more robust power features, 1 GB of memory — twice that of the Red option, site-to-site VPN, and geo-IP filtering for up to three regions. Firewalla Blue’s VPN encryption speed is 70 Mbps.

Firewalla Blue Plus — $199

It should come as no surprise that this option is essentially the Firewalla Blue with a faster processor and 2 GB of system memory. Its geo-IP filter blocks more regions (from three with the standard Blue to 10 with Blue Plus), and it uses a Simple Smart Queue to manage congestion in the cyber world.

Firewalla Gold — $418

Gold is the premium option from Firewalla! It handles internet speeds between 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps (yep, that’s gigabits per second) — just perfect for your heavy-hitter business needs. You can manage your network traffic using an Advanced Smart Queue and control your network bandwidth usage from the comfort of your home. This model is a state-of-the-art router and firewall combo that can easily replace your old router with its multi-WAN support. It’s even higher performing than Firewalla Blue Plus, with its unlimited geo-IP filtering and more CPU resources — optimal for customization scripts and Docker containers. This option uses 4096 MB of memory with a VPN encryption speed of 120 Mbps.
