Dakine Descent Bike Duffle Bag
When Dakine designed the Descent Bike Duffle Bag, it only had one thing in mind. The brand wanted mountain bikers to be ready to ride the moment they reach the trailhead. Such is the function of the Descent. It is a duffel bag that is versatile enough for use on an everyday basis. However, when it comes to handling your mountain bike gear, expect the Descent to do a fantastic job.
The Descent does not have the looks of a serious mountain biking gear bag, though. Nevertheless, its design more than makes up for its lack of aesthetic appeal. On top is an extra-wide opening that guarantees instant and easy access to the storage compartment. Internal dividers litter the insides of the Descent, giving you the freedom to create miniature compartments for all of your stuff. This gives the Descent a design philosophy that’s similar to professional camera bags.
What is noteworthy in the design is that Dakine did not limit the storage options to a floating divider. There are also pockets galore that can further improve one’s organization of his stuff. There’s one up front for securing your tools, in case you need some quick fix along the trail. It’s also a great pocket for your food, should you feel hungry afterward.
On one end of the Descent is a shoe pocket. This is a welcome surprise for many, since the compartment features a design that makes it inconspicuous. There’s also a tuck-away mat which can be handy when it comes to changing to and from your mountain biking gear.
It is true that Dakine’s Descent Bike Duffle Bag has a very bland appearance. However, its 70-liter capacity and thoughtful construction are enough to get your mountain biking adventures underway. It remains a mountain biker’s dream bag, nonetheless.
