CRKT 5400 XOC
With an elegant-looking drop point blade, the CRKT XOC is a simple yet very usable folding pocket knife. The XOC is Brazilian knife designer Flavio Ikoma’s take on what a folding knife should be. It integrates one of the world’s latest innovations in folding knife mechanism. This gives the XOC superior strength without compromising its form and function.
Featuring the Deadbolt locking system, the XOC is a large folding knife that spans a full 10.375 inches when opened. When closed, it still has a lengthy profile at 6.25 inches. Most folding knives on store displays come with a closed length of less than 5 inches. On the plus side, the length allows for better control of the knife, regardless of what kind of task you decide to use it in.
The Deadbolt Lock mechanism is very new to folding knives. This makes the XOC very unique since it is one of the world’s first knives to integrate such a locking mechanism.
The handle of the XOC is superb, featuring weaved carbon fiber instead of the usual materials found on other knives. It also comes with titanium handle inlays, further adding to the strength and durability of the folding knife. Holding the knife is a joy. With a long handle and exceptional textured surface, this is one knife that you will never let go of.
The 4.258-inch drop point blade does not come with any fancy designs. There are no serrations or cutouts for additional functionality. Regardless, the CTS XHP blade steel can only come from the finest materials you can find. And with its refined satin finish, the blade does give that faint glint of luxury.
The CRKT XOC is a large and beautiful folding knife. It boasts of a few unique features that you may not see in other folding knives.
