CAT Intruder Sneaker
When it comes to heavy machinery, tools, and engines, people in the know always trust CAT or Caterpillar, Inc. because of the brand’s insistence on only the finest quality materials and the best possible design in their products. As such, when the brand ventured into the world of footwear, people expected the same quality craftsmanship. This is epitomized in the newest addition of the brand to its growing collection of sneakers – the Intruder.
One of the most striking features of the Intruder is its oversized outsole that is reminiscent of the heavy machinery that moved earth. Technically, the Intruder is a throwback to the brand’s Re-Powered capsule collection of the last decade of the 20th century. The large rubber outsole came with extra-large nubs that make it look more like a soccer player’s shoes than it is for a trainer. Regardless, this system is guaranteed to firmly plant the feet for better traction and performance.
The upper of the Intruder is a mixture of genuine nubuck cowhide leather and mesh fabric to give the power sneaker-trainer both remarkable breathability and comfort while affording the wearer a more luxurious feel on the feet. The nubuck-mesh interface provides a framework for the equally-remarkable lace closure complete with a pull tab for improved fit.
The toe cap is duly textured to give the Intruder a different kind of design. The sneaker’s midsole is aptly arched to follow the contours of the midsection of the sole of the feet. It comes with ample cushion, too. The only recognizable design element of the Intruder is the CAT logo that adorns the ankle.
The CAT Footwear Intruder sneaker looks more like a trail running shoe or terrain-conquering low-cut boot because of its ginormous rubber outsoles. But if it can conquer any trail, then it can easily perform anywhere else.
