Base Station Pro – Wireless Charging Evolved
You may not realize this, but the device you are reading this from may have a wireless charger built into it. If you’re on a modern Android or iPhone, there’s a good chance that inside that little black mirror, a Qi device will give you access to juice without pesky cables. Now that you have joined those in the know, Nomad has released the Base Station Pro to keep all your gear good-to-go.
To date, wireless charging pads have been about the size of a single phone. Useful for those with one device to charge, but now that Airpods, smartwatches, and more have Qi integrated into them, you need more real estate on that charger to keep everything in full-power mode.
The top of the Base Station Pro is big enough to accommodate two phones and a set of Airpods. Aside from the capacity, what we love about this setup is the uber sleek design. The top (where your stuff goes) features a black padded leather surface that will grip your devices, while the frame itself is machined aluminum and powder-coated black. It’s easy to envision it sitting next to a top-of-the-line MacBook Pro.
At $230 MSRP, this gadget isn’t cheap, but this kind of technology is not widely available, so if you want to be an early adopter, you’ve gotta fork over the cash! To be fair, this is about what you’d pay for three chargers combined, so that’s your excuse when your significant other compares their free charging cord to your fancy device dock.
The Base Station Pro ships in waves and they can be hard to get your hands on. So if the idea of cutting the cord appeals to your cable OCD (COCD?), this thing is ready to tidy up your workstation and juice your devices simultaneously.
