Ako Trike
The Ako Trike was born out of Ako Trike co-founder/CTO Arturas Mikalauskas’ frustration with the heavy traffic going on in Lithuania. To create a viable design for the vehicle, Mikalauskas garnered inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz F300. The man was assisted by co-founder Lukas Barciauskas to bring the sketch to life.
Mikalauskas collaborated further with Lukas Avenas, a design student, for the creation of a prototype, eventually named the Prototype Zero. Designer Dominykas Budinas and engineers Simonas Palaima and Jurgis soon joined the group, and more modifications were added on the structure, design, and electrical system of the trike.
The current Ako Trike that’s up for grabs in the market operates using a 26 kWh battery pack that churns out up to 200 kW motor output. It features more than 300 km range and a DC fast charge. There are two seats with a 30-degree leaning angle and has a weight capacity of 500 kg. For safety, this innovative version of the drift trike includes front and side airbags, a 4-point seatbelt, lean controls, and a lower center of mass.
This is an impressive engineering and design piece that makes for a good-looking, streamlined, and practical ride. It redefines vehicle maneuverability by its capability to lean into curves and low-speed steering. It also allows riders to take in new experiences when it comes to riding and traversing urban landscapes.
The full production of the vehicle will begin in 2021. There will be high-end and eco-friendly versions of the unit. This is something all vehicle enthusiasts can look forward to. These beauties are on the pricey side but what you will get is something not only aesthetically-pleasing but a vehicle that is very functional and practical as well. Those on the lookout for modern vehicles should definitely look into these exciting vehicle innovations. New styles of cars and motorbikes are always a thrill for its purveyors.
