Reinventing the wheel is no easy task – ask anybody who’s tried in the past few hundred centuries. Loopwheels swap the typical spokes on their 20″ bicycle wheels for three carbon composite springs that work to absorb shocks, cushioning vibrations and bumps without the need for any frame-mounted suspension. The result is an ultra-smooth ride, one that’s particularly welcome on folding bikes which are often without any shock-absorbing capabilities, and adds only 300 grams over its spoked equivalent.
