With a (so far) electronically limited top speed of 261 mph (420 kmh) and a power output of 1,500 horsepower, the Bugatti Chiron makes the Veyron look sluggish in comparison. Its 8-litre W16 engine boasts four custom Bugatti-designed turbochargers that start delivering maximum torque at 2,000 rpm, accelerating the heavy Chiron from 0 to 62 mph in under 2.5 seconds, and to 186 in a blistering 13.6. The above is aided by Bugatti’s new carbon fiber monocoque, carbon fiber body and structural panels, as well as a titanium exhaust system that all boost rigidity or reduce weight, or both. It also pairs this beastly performance to an utterly luxurious cabin, complete with an analog speedometer that goes all the way up to 310 mph (500 kmh), a chilled glove box for stashing beverages, and an instrument cluster that gradually fades and minimizes all non-essential information (read: distractions) as its speed climbs into the hundreds.
