First thing’s first: Breva’s Génie 01 costs as much as some homes. Moving on, we’ve still got plenty of good things to say about this compact marvel of engineering: for one, it tells the time thanks to 46 jewel mechanical Breva movement, plus a power indicator on the bottom right. Of interest, though, is that Breva managed to cram an anaeroid weather-predicting barometer and altimeter into the watch, a feat complicated by the fact that the watch internals cannot be exposed to outside air. Regardless, they pulled it off, and while it’s perfect for use in the wilderness – on paper anyway – there’s a good chance none of the 110 pieces (half in white gold, half in pink gold) will ever see the natural light of day.
