Patagonia Yulex Natural Rubber Wetsuit

Modern wetsuits are made of neoprene. It’s warm, sure, but the material is also non-renewable and based on petroleum, with production detrimental to the environment its wearers so enjoy. Patagonia’s Yulex Natural Rubber Wetsuit manages to ditch the material entirely, replacing it with natural rubber from hevea trees grown in Guatemala and purified by Yulex in a process that reduces overall carbon emissions by four-fifths. And we’re not talking one or two special wetsuits in their lineup; instead Patagonia went all-in, replacing neoprene in all their wetsuits with Yulex natural rubber. Importantly, it also meets or exceeds performance characteristics of neoprene, leaving both man and planet happier and healthier.
