G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-1000
There are certain brands that come to mind when you think of tough, durable watches built for anything — and G-Shock is certainly amongst them. The brand’s Mudmaster GWG-1000 draws off some equally rugged inspiration, partnering with Captain Joseph Garcia, one of the world’s leaders in Corrections Special Operations, to create a watch that handle even more than your standard G-Shock. It’s got vibration resistance thanks to the use of Alpha gel underneath and around the watch module, 200 meters of water resistance, plus a multitude of functions and sensors that include a digital compass, altimeter, barometer, and thermometer. The list goes on and on, but the timepiece is also solar-powered, automatically set by radio to atomic time, and makes uses of multiple gaskets on the pipes that guide all buttons and shafts so that no mud or debris makes its way into the case for complete mud resistance. It’s positively beastly and built to last, and for well under a grand that’s about as good as it gets.
