A Burglar’s Guide to the City

Penned by Geoff Manaugh in collaboration with FBI Special Agents, security consultants, and reformed bank robbers, A Burglar’s Guide to the City puts a different spin and perspective on the study of architecture. The book reviews a two thousand year history of heists and break-ins carried out by twisted geniuses lured by enormous sums of money, amongst other treasures. Buildings are dissected, surveillance systems analyzed for holes, and obstacles are overcome, or at least analyzed to a great extent, showing that burglars often have a deeper understanding of architecture than the layman and quite possibly the architects behind these supposedly impenetrable edifices themselves.
