Best Made Takedown Skillet

Iron is king when it comes to cooking over a campfire. The Best Made Takedown Skillet was designed in collaboration with a British iron foundry to bring this metal to the backcountry in a package that’s lighter and less cumbersome than cast iron options. The 10-inch skillet takes shape from a flat iron disc turned on a lathe, weighing in at about 2 and a half pounds — or roughly half as much as its cast brethren — and sports a removable 7.25-inch steel handle that’s attached using two brass wing nuts. It’s also pre-seasoned with a natural oil blend so it’s ready to sear steak or sling bacon right out of the box.
