Vuhl 05

There are only two strategies to making a car quicker: put in a bigger engine, or strip away some heft. The Mexican Vuhl 05 focuses on the latter, strapping a seemingly reasonable 2.0-litre 285bhp Ford Ecoboost engine to an ultra-lightweight (dry weight of 695kg, or 1532 pounds) aluminum monocoque frame with a body made of RTM-reinforced plastic (or, optionally, carbon fibre). The result is as go-kart as it is car, with its six-speed manual gearbox, nigh-impossible handling, a blistering 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, and top speed of 152mph.
