Facebook’s long-awaited smartphone has finally arrived… sort of. Facebook Home, which is more of a skin over an underlying Android OS, is all about flooding your device with the Facebook experience, between filling your lock screen with friends’ status updates, clean notifications (Facebook or not), a ubiquitous chatting app that works while using other apps and regroups SMS + FB messages, plus a simpler, user-friendly interface we’re dying to try. Get it first on HTC’s First, which packs a 4.3-inch display, 1.4GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor, LTE, 5 megapixel rear-facing and 1.6 megapixel front-facing cameras, plus the option to disable Facebook Home and fall back to stock Android at a whim (hedging their bets; why not?).
It’s also available for free download on select other devices, so look for it on April 12; until then, read more at Facebook Home – $100
