Samsung Galaxy S III

With nothing short of a few hundred smartphones in the Android ecosystem, deciding on which to purchase isn’t easy. Our thoughts on the matter are simple: only a handful that come out every year are worth considering – just ditch the rest. We’re green-lighting Samsung’s newly unveiled Galaxy S III, for obvious reasons that include a 1.4ghz quad core Exynos processor, 8MP rear/1.9MP front cameras and, best of all, a gargantuan 4.8 inch 720p Super AMOLED display that makes the iPhone look like a Tamagochi. On the software side, Samsung threw in a slew of interactive gems (one we liked: when viewing a contact, raise the phone to your head to dial) as well as S Voice to lock horns with Siri. Oh yeah, and it’s 8.6mm thin.

Head to Amazon to preorder in pebble blue / white, or visit Engadget for a detailed hands-on – $TBA.
